Community band
[edit]Would it be worthwhile to include a community band on this page? The Calhoun-Isles Community Band in the Uptown district of Minneapolis, Minnesota changed its name to City of Lakes Community Band in November 2018 to distance itself from Calhoun's pro-slavery legacy.[1] This followed the renaming of the former Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis to Bde Maka Ska, the traditional Dakota name for the lake.[1]> Eastmain (talk • contribs) 19:26, 2 December 2018 (UTC)

Calhoun High School, Merrick, New York
[edit]Why is this on the list as it says "(Calhoun High School, Merrick, New York, was named for local educator Sanford H. Calhoun.)?"Johnnyboy755 (talk) 06:10, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
This was an erroneous posting from the start. The school administrator had nothing to do with the pro-slavery politician, and I removed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.54.196.224 (talk) 20:46, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
