About your revert & merging

[edit]

Hey @Bkonrad:, I just saw your revert of my earlier merge of this stub's content to Sokil and wanted to ask, what exactly do you mean by "crap." If the content is patent rubbish, then it probably shouldn't have its own article or be on Wikipedia. Otherwise, I don't see any reason this content should be kept on a separate article (e.g. do you think this stub is capable of being expanded to be comprehensive?). Most other general Ukrainian names include both locations and other uses together on the same DAB (see Mykolaiv (disambiguation) for example). Also recommend checking the Ukrainian Wikipedia page for Сокіл (значення). I think the way that page is organized makes a lot of sense imo. Dan the Animator 14:46, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Pages that exist on another language wiki has little bearing on what is appropriate for English wiki. Many, perhaps all of the entries on the Ukranian page have existing articles in that language's wiki. That is not the case with the entries on this list article. olderwiser 15:14, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
None of the content on the list page fits any criteria for inclusion on a disambiguation page per guidelines at WP:DAB and MOS:DAB. As for whether the list itself is in any way notable, that is a separate consideration. olderwiser 15:10, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
older ≠ wiser would it be alright for me to nominate this at AfD then? I don't see the utility of having this as a separate article. Also, thanks for the quick reply!!! :) Dan the Animator 15:15, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've no opinion on the notability of the list article. In the past, editors involved in wikiprojects for Ukraine and other former Soviet nations have successfully argued for keeping such set index articles at AfD. olderwiser 15:19, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, thanks for the insight! Will still like to start a discussion about this regardless. Thanks again for the replies, Dan the Animator 15:21, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
