Previous Version
[edit]I only just discovered this page and saw it was vacant, upon finishing my own research into the population figures i see this was only just deleted, not sure what the old version was like, but i hope i have made sufficient improvements to keep this from being deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stonyisalegend (talk • contribs) 06:28, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
UC/L
[edit]Brief explanation from census data:
An Urban Centre (UC/L) is generally defined as a population cluster of 1,000 or more people. A Locality is generally defined as a population cluster of between 200 and 999 people.
As well as the 35 currently listed Urban Centres(UC) I have an additional 54 Localities(L) which i can add if you think it would be relevant that makes 89 from 105 having trouble finding the other 16 help? i have a duplicate copy with the additional localities on my userpage. - Since the article is titled "List of places", why should it include only UCs? Why not localities as well? This is but one of the issues with this article. When it was first created, it was titled "List of cities", apparently because the article creator thought that a UC was a city, which it isn't. It was renamed "List of places" because not all of the places listed were cities, but the name is ambiguous, hence my comments at the Victorian AfD. Incidentally, not all of the places listed are UCs. --AussieLegend (talk) 09:12, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I just merely followed suit of the victorian article which i now know has the same problem, but too list all these UC/L's about nsw or even vic would surely give a list in the hundreds, so i didn't see teh harm in cutting it 1000 which is just the UC's. I am happy to help keep this article and bring it up to standard, i just need to know what to do. Stony ¿ 09:48, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- The Victorian list was so bad that I had to spend over an hour fixing it up, and it's in its present state un-updatable (and probably still contains many errors and omissions). Orderinchaos 03:06, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
