Towns

I have included the sub-heading 'Towns' to include the areas of Fulwood, Ashton, Lea and Ribbleton. The question has arisen: "Are they officially 'towns'?" Personally, I don't know but I would consider that these areas each have a recognisable centre and, it appears to me, that they were historically towns. Does anyone have a preferred terminology?
