Radical Presence: Black Performance in Contemporary Art

[edit]

I cross-referenced from https://camh.org/event/radical-presence-black-performance-contemporary-art to make sure that respected Black performance artists with existing Wikipedia entries are added to this archival list. robinlaverne

Criteria for including names

[edit]

I do hope contributors will respect the principle that they should only include artists who have a verifiable history and credentials - for example multiple results from a search engine trawl as well as a press file. thegirlinwhite 22:37, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. WP:BIO has guidelines for inclusions of biographies of people, hopefully it well help. Friday (talk) 22:42, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the link added by this user. The list is of performance artists with Wikipedia entries. --Bugwit grunt / scribbles 04:13, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

gg allin?

[edit]

i really don't see why he's included on this list. kind of a stretch. shouldn't we include iggy pop, then? ozzy osbourne? what about more underground acts? fast forward? treephort? gwar?

it seems like the only criteria for a musician to be considered a performance artist would be an eccentric stage show. --Friendship hurricane 04:02, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yeah, i'm taking it off. if somebody reverts it just say why and we'll discuss. --Friendship hurricane 07:28, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Grey?

[edit]

Alex Grey is a well known contemporary painter and was a performance artist in the 70's and 80's. I believe that he is respected enough for his performances to warrant inclusion. I don't know how to write him in though.
