Président du Conseil Paul Reynaud
[edit]French politician Paul Reynaud (born October the 15th, 1878) last fathered a child aged 75 (Alexandre Paul-Reynaud, bord May 3rd, 1954). He should probably be added to the list. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Paul_Reynaud — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.60.24.54 (talk) 07:11, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

93-year-old man from Cerignola
[edit]I couldn't find yet a source in English, so I put this Italian one: https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2019/02/15/diventa-padre-a-93-anni-sorpresa-allospedale-di-cerignola-il-bambino-sta-bene/4974374/. Increasing the age limit to 75
[edit]I think it would be better if we would high the age limit from 65 to 75 or 70, because there are to many mens getting childrens in their 60s. --Lord vom Ork (talk) 09:51, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- I would agree with raising the age limit, as I would say 65–75 is generally not notable enough for this list. --Voello talk 02:52, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support raising the minimum to 75. I might even go higher than that, but certainly nothing below that is noteworthy relative to the higher numbers on the list. BD2412 T 22:12, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
@BD2412: The study on the anonymous 66 yo man says 65 66 is the biological and not social upper limit. Geographyinitiative (talk) 06:29, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- I disagree that the cited survey is evidence for a biological limit of 65 years. Clearly, there are multiple examples of much older men apparently conceiving children with much younger women. Even in the absence of a DNA test result made public, I do not see a reason to doubt that these men are the true fathers. David notMD (talk) 10:23, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- Surely not for men. BD2412 T 17:14, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm going to go ahead and remove everything under 75, per the above. BD2412 T 03:00, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
- Disagree. I have reinstated the proposed fertility age limit of 65-66 years for men. Most or all of the listed cases are likely to be spurious. Take for example the old Australian "father" who allegedly has a child at around age 92 years by his young Filipino immigrant wife. There is a clear motivation for a female immigrant seeking permanent residency and citizenship to claim to have a spouse and a child, which improves her legal status. Similarly where a young woman marries an older wealthy man (eg. Charlie Chaplin), there is a clear motivation to have an extramarital affair and child so that the inheritance passes along her bloodline, if the elderly husband turns out to be infertile. I am not saying this happened in these cases, but it is naive to assume paternity here without a DNA test, given the proven drastic dropoff at 66 years. 46.6.154.146 (talk) 13:37, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- And were all legal fathers in this study over 65? No? How many father claims of men over 65 were disproven in it? Without an answer to these two questions the only conclusion we can get from this study is that it's extremly uncommon to have a father over the age of 65 which is obvious as most men in this age are already married for decades and if they are single they usually search for women in their own age group and don't attract young fertile women in most cases anyway. These guys listed here are mostly millionaires so they're clearly the exception. --Lord vom Ork (talk) 17:47, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

His exact date of birth seems to be unknown, but seeing as it is listed as "c. 1652", and his son François-André Danican Philidor was born in 1726, he probably deserves a mention. Double sharp (talk) 15:15, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Will be a solidly sourced candidate for this list in a few months should his wife give birth [1] Piratesswoop (talk) 04:28, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
I removed him from the list as it was reported (in Russian) that DNA test revealed he was not the father of his supposed 6th child. Moreover, according to [2], he himself denied his fatherhood. And the claimant to be the mother of his supposed 6th child also claimed that she used sperm samples taken about 15th years ago - even if it were true, I doubt that it makes the claim of becoming father at the age of 90 years eligible. --ɴõɴəχүsƚ 10:11, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

Sibbi of Vé
[edit]The Rök runestone mentions that the nonagenarian Sibbi "of the shrine" begat a son in his old age [3]. I recognize that the basis of a ninth century runestone is pretty shaky, but it's also as good as it gets for the time and place, not to mention that the article could do with some entries from further in the past. 31.5.191.198 (talk) 19:32, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
