Exclusions

[edit]

In taking the names off the maps in the Guia Roji, I have excluded Reserves, Parques Estatal, and Parques Natural. Is that a mistake? Do they have the same legal status? Does it matter? - Eric 20:35, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Formally there is a distinction, and parques nacionales in Mexico are quite different from those other 3 you mention (which are created at the state level, AFAIK), and the NPs are in turn but one of the categories defined under areas naturales protegidas in the SINANP system.--cjllw ʘ TALK 09:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting

[edit]

If the parks are "national" and federally managed, than the states have a limited relevance, so I don't see why ordering them by state. As indication of their geographic location, a map could be provided like at List of national parks of Brazil. A sortable table would be more useful, and if need to be structured into sections, it would make more sense to do it by ecoregions. --ELEKHHT 23:05, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
