AKG listed as a past mic manufacture. I believe this is incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.58.174.221 (talk) 06:55, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why only manufacturers with a Wikipedia article?

[edit]

Any reason why there should not also be a list of microphone manufacturers that do not (yet) have a Wikipedia article? Then perhaps some people might be inclined to write articles about them too! Onlyonefin 20:07, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. How will one verify that the things listed are actually microphone manufacturers? Remember that the criterion for inclusion on WP is verifability, not truth (see WP:VERIFY). With this list, you can click on any of the links and the wikipedia article should clearly indicate that the company does, indeed, manufacture microphones, and it should be nicely sourced, etc., if it's a good and proper WP article. (Of course, with AMPEX, I believe AMPEX did manufacture microphones decades ago, but it was a fairly minor part of the company, or perhaps they just put their name on microphones made by other companies (Electro-voice?), so this has never been added to AMPEX.) If you want to request that an article be created, you can always do that: see WP:Requested_Articles for information on how. Cheers, Doctormatt 21:23, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible to link to the company's websites directly? Advanced Audio Microphones and Studio Projects are both dead links, Milab links to a village in Iran, yet Sontronics isn't included.

No. That would be spamming. If the company is notable, then an article can be written. Then they can be included in the list. If you thing about writing an article for it, always remember the Golden Rule -- Alexf(talk) 11:37, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is FLEA a microphone manufacturer or a drug?

[edit]

Hi. I am interested in learning more about microphone manufacturers but when I clicked on the first link that caught my eye, "FLEA", I was taken to an article about a hallucinogenic drug. What gives? 67.246.105.108 (talk) 03:28, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

microphone manufacturers to be included

[edit]

I notice this hasn't had much action but I know of some manufacturers that deserve not only to be included but have articles. For instance Advanced Audio Microphones are a small company making great mics. They need an article too!!MisterJeb (talk) 17:49, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As wikipedia says: "Be bold"
I would say go ahead and add any an all manufacturers. I might break it up into two parts. Manufacturers with articles and manufacturers without articles. I am not sure why this list excludes manufacturers without articles. The Category:List of Microphone Manufacturers should automatically split the list to the haves and the have nots.
I am going to split the list of manufacturers with articles into existing companies and defunct companies since I just added an article on defunct companies. Robert.Harker (talk) 20:24, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
