Title of Article
[edit]Gray's Inn has many more members than are listed here. Whilst I accept that it would be impractical (and probably some sort of breach of privacy) to list them all, perhaps the article should be renamed "List of notable members of Gray's Inn"?
--Mlongcake (talk) 12:34, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- Possibly, but it isn't really commonly used - see List of University of Edinburgh people, for example, or List of alumni of Jesus College, Oxford: Law and government. See WP:LISTNAME; "Many lists are not intended to contain every possible member (e.g. List of people from the Isle of Wight obviously does not include all people from the island). Because of this, "notable" is assumed, and that word (or similar subjective words such as "famous," "noted," "prominent," etc.) should not be included in the title of a list article." John Bradshaw
[edit]Is there a particular reason that this list does not include John Bradshaw? He would seem to pass notability guidelines, mainly due to service as President of a High Court and the first Lord President of the Council of State of the Commonwealth of England. I would like to add a reference, but wanted to run it by the community to see if there was a prior decision to exclude. I'd note that the John Bradshaw article has been enhanced significantly recently, following a copy of the 1911 Encyclopedia Brittanica article into WikiSource. After 6 months of silence, decided no objection so added 1627 John Bradshaw to list of judiciary. Probably can archive this section soon. Iowajason (talk) 00:32, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
