Vermont Lieutenant Governors
[edit]I am not having much luck figuring out what the colors represent. Red or blue for the names, several different colors for table cell backgrounds. A legend would be handy.

- I agree. It appears that Red is Republican Party and Blue is Democrat Party. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:56, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Missing Lieutenant Governor
[edit]The chart appears to have a missing piece: no one is listed as Lieutenant Governor for 1991–1993. Is there any reason for this? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:57, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Governor Richard Snelling died in 1991. Lieutenant Governor Howard Dean succeeded to the governorship. Vermont law does not have a provision for filling the lieutenant governorship in the event of a vacancy, so the position remained vacant until Snelling's widow Barbara won the 1992 election and was sworn into the position in January, 1993. (Vermont's statewide officials serve two year terms.) Billmckern (talk) 14:43, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
