Question: @Shakespeare143: Are these refugess included in the Partition of India? --NoonIcarus (talk) 17:11, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, these refugees are not included in the Partition of India. These riots occurred after the Partition.Shakespeare143 (talk) 06:57, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Shakespeare143 could you point out the specific section that helps with the disambiguation? Thanks. VV 14:09, 26 April 2021 (UTC))[reply]
Vincentvikram An article (https://web.archive.org/web/20200610222518/http://www.asiantribune.com/index.php?q=node%2F6606) says "The riots in 1950 killed thousands and pushed 35 lakh Hindus to take refuge in India." This article (https://www.sciencespo.fr/mass-violence-war-massacre-resistance/fr/document/thematic-chronology-mass-violence-pakistan-1947-2007.html) says Partition violence occurred form 1947-1948 and these were the 2 years that caused Partition refugees.
Thanks, Shakespeare143. The numbers seem to vary drastically between the two sources and the number you propose to put up. Among the two sources which would you consider scholarly enough to support a claim? VV 08:39, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Greco-Turkish population exchanges

[edit]

I wonder if these processes associated with Turkish War of Independence qualify as refugee crises (I am inclinded to thank that they do). It would be great if there starts a discussion on this question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gorgedweller (talkcontribs) 13:25, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Israel Palestinian Conflict

[edit]

There were 500K-700K refugees displaced as a result of the war in 1948, and while there is an organization UNRWA dedicated solely to this conflict with their own biased agenda to hyper inflate it's impact to the same level as other wars that ACTUALLY did have over 1 million displaced in direct response to a war, it is not an apples to apples comparison to all the other wars, which is the intent of this page, unless you also count descendants for the last 75 years from all these other wars as well. It hyper inflates the scale of the Israel Palestinian conflict in a misleading way. The little [2] will be clicked on by nobody, which explains this caveat, and therefore if the goal of Wikipedia is to spread information in a non-misleading way, you should remove this conflict from the list. 2600:4040:AE03:A000:99E7:3FC8:D3DF:C3E7 (talk) 21:29, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
