[edit]Significant spelling reform to the English language is simply not going to happen. The existing system has too much inertia.
That said, could something be done with the words form and from which are always being confused, with the Microsoft Word Spellchecker powerless to help. If one or other word can be changed to eliminate the problem of the ro/or reversal, then progress will have been made.

- If one takes that attitude, it never will happen. It doesn't hav to be significant, one can work the edges. Noah Webster brought about a good bit of spelling reform. I'v been noting altho, tho, and thru ever since I was a teenager ... thru high school, college (undergrad and masters), the Army (where they were preferrd), being a lawman (where they were also preferrd), and writing reports for the corporate hierarchy. I'v now droppd the "useless e" like in sleev, opposit from most words. Truly, it's not hard to do.--AnWulf ... Wes þu hal! (talk) 21:36, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
The main problem with any reform in English is that English lacks an official organization to oversee it, unlike French. Homonphones are problamatic in English, but that is likely to be true in any language that uses the Roman alphabet.Emmett5 02:59, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
