This page was originally part of the List of lakes page, but took up over a third of the article, so I extracted them onto their own page. I plan to make a "List of lakes in <state>" page for each state and move the list elements from here to those pages. I'd like to keep notable lakes for each state here (deepest, longest, largest etc) and include the most notable lakes in the US back on the main List of lakes page. My US geography is very sketchy however so assistance would be welcomed. Malathos06:48, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe we very dearly need to get back to this concept.
Largest (capacity), Deepest, Longest, Highest (altitude)
Thus no more than 4-5 per state WITH their respective qualifier from above
No redlinks; they should ONLY appear on the state specific articles until created.
As such, I am going to start moving redlinks (if not already on the State page) and trying to "qualify" for at least the states that I tend to care about. Mjquinn_id (talk) 20:48, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've collected a disambiguation page with all the Lake Greenwood articles, because I noticed that the article on the Lake Greenwood I was familiar with (where [[|B-25 Mitchell|B-25C]] 41-13285 was retrieved) was named Lake Greenwood (South Carolina). As there was no article on "Lake Greenwood", I decided to collect the names of these lakes or similar names (such as Greenwood Lake). It's not a huge list, but I have created it. Should this be added to the category of U.S. lakes, or not? Zchris87v04:19, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
