good idea
[edit]but is there some way to get the list to stretch across the entire page instead of being constrained on the right by the template on the first screen. It would make for easier reading when the text to be read is wider and less long for each person. Hmains (talk) 03:44, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Rene Descartes
[edit]Would it be an idea to have Rene Descartes on this list? I know that he predates the eighteenth century, but his famous phrase "Cogito, ergo sum" can be thought of as a fountainhead of Enlightenment rationalism. Descartes may predate the eighteenth century, but this list include Sir Francis Bacon, who predates Descartes. Vorbee (talk) 17:15, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
