german

[edit]

analogous to the saint ... in other languages German has "Sankt Nimmerlein" (roughly: saint never) on whose day things are supposedly going to happen

==If the sky falls, we will catch larks==

Never heard that one. References, citations? 213.205.200.48 (talk) 12:28, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

blue moons

[edit]

The phrase "once in a blue moon" is, I believe, much older than the trivial calendric sense of the phrase, and the article ought not to imply that the new sense is the only sense. —Tamfang (talk) 19:19, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Other entries on this page do not go into such details and it is misleading. I removed the sentence. People can follow the link blue moon to get more information. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 20:06, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
