NewYork–Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital
[edit]After the 9/11, WTC Attacks, this hospital was under control of New York University or NYU which is commonly used as a three letter acronym for New York University and referred to as the Downtown or New York Downtown Hospital. Since the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, or Liberty Tower, it has been transferred back to Cornell or New York-Presbyterian, although some of the doctors did not change. I did find a receipt prior to my seeking medical treatment through New York Downtown to have been a previous doctor which had treated me through Cornell. It seemed the downtown or Financial District may have been going through what I might refer to as a face lift in anticipation of expected or potential financial influx and shifting or changing of business may or may not have part of the transition in anticipation of the new tower, as buildings continue to be constructed, save a few remaining building, such as, my residence. Proposed split.
[edit]The current article: "List of hospitals in New York City" should split off the "Closed hospital" section into a separate article named "List of closed hospitals in New York City". The current article is rather large. - HugoHelp (talk) 02:16, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- Split. I'm in favor of splitting the article - I added a couple of hundred of the closed hospitals and re-ordered the current hospitals about two years ago. When I started, I had no idea there was going to be so much to add. Although some of the closed hospitals were forerunners of the current hospitals, most were not, and have been closed for many decades. There could be a hatnote added to the top of each page directing readers to the other page if that's what they need. Ira Leviton (talk) 00:20, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- I have split off the following articles: List of hospitals in the Bronx, List of hospitals in Brooklyn, List of hospitals in Queens, and List of hospitals in Staten Island. I would like to request that somone take on the separation of the List of hospitals in Manhattan content, as I am not comfortable taking it on. I am also not sure as to what to remove from the original (List of hospitals in New York City) article. HugoHelp (talk) 14:46, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- Realized that the "further" tag is used to connect the removed split article content to the new articles. That confused me, yesterday. HugoHelp (talk) 15:26, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
Re-merge the hospitals by borough?
[edit]Perhaps there should be a list of closed hospitals in NYC, and then one main article for the existing hospitals in NYC. I just wanted to see how many hospitals there in NYC right now, and rather than looking through the sub-articles, I came to complain on the talk page. So... thoughts? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:57, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
