Avery Atkins
[edit]Player Avery Atkins was not a member of the Florida Gators football team, nor was he enrolled in the University of Florida at the time of his death. Atkins should be removed from this list. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 20:55, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on List of American football players who died during their career. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20100927100308/http://www.philly.com:80/inquirer/breaking/sports_breaking/20100427_Penn_football_player_committed_suicide.html to http://www.philly.com/inquirer/breaking/sports_breaking/20100427_Penn_football_player_committed_suicide.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

As the title is unchanged
[edit]... I believe the next step is to list all the games played after death by the people referenced so that the "whole" of their careers are detailed. After all, they died during their career, so must have continued their careers after they died. WillE (talk) 21:29, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
O. J. Murdock
[edit]@WilliamJE: Could you show me where it says he was released before committing suicide? All I found makes it seem like he was still a member of the team. BeanieFan11 (talk) 18:27, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
John Tuggle
[edit]John Tuggle died during his career. New York Giants. Please add him. 2601:646:8201:B2B0:D64:583:4240:1CBE (talk) 14:09, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
D.J. Hayden
[edit]Could D.J. Hayden be added here since he never announced his retirement before he died? 100.0.42.150 (talk) 04:13, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Only players who died while still on a team roster are added. Hayden was a free agent at the time of his death. BeanieFan11 (talk) 15:49, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
