Questions: 1. What is the source of this list? 2. Why is it called "French Territory of the Afars and the Issas" from 1888 onwards, when it was commonly known as "French Somaliland" up until 1967, when the other name was officially adopted? (Concerning #2, I suspect either someone is indulging in POV-pushing, or, more likely, is just too young to know about the earlier name.) -- llywrch (talk) 16:35, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1st term, 2nd term

French colonial governors were appointed "for pleasure" and not for a specific term generally. Especially in Djibouti with its debilitating climate, they would take leaves that could last up to 9 months and were then replaced by a local colonial official (Chief of Customs, for instance) who served as acting Governor until the governor came back from his leave. So it's inaccurate to speak of his 1st term, 2nd term, 3rd term, etc. It was all the same term. --Lubiesque (talk) 01:28, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
