Motor - piped to Internal combustion engine

[edit]

Hello, I've piped the link for motor (in the Motorized Racing section) to Internal combustion engine as it seemed that this was correct. If not, feel free to point it to a more appropriate place. Thanks for reading. Politepunk 11:44, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The current conventional wheeled Land speed record for railed vehicles is set by a TGV with Electric motors that are powered by electric power plants miles away from the vehicle. The article on Internal combustion engines does not cover Rocket engines much at all (although the rocket engine article does mention that most rockets are internal combustion engines). Vehicle class speed records have been set by steam locomotives such as the LNER Class A4 4468 Mallard as well as the external combustion Gardner-Serpollet "Easter Egg" (in 1902). Hence, I think that linking directly to the more general Motor article would be more appropriate for this article. 67.86.73.252 (talk) 02:52, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Land Speed Racing?

[edit]

Would land speed racing fit into this article? I think it should be in there, but it encompasses both 4 wheel and motorcycles. Hoagie3000 15:33, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Drifting

[edit]

This should not be included as it is not technically a form of racing, rather it is a display of artistry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.53.110.143 (talk) 22:14, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Split

[edit]

Splitted out from Talk:Racing Kslotte (talk) 23:12, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Goal here is to get all types of races listed. Hopefully also some type of short compact description for each race type. Later also some type of navboxes can be made. Kslotte (talk) 23:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Term

[edit]

Is term racing form better to use then racing type? Kslotte (talk) 23:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious entries in the animal section

[edit]

I removed the redlink "Nudibranch racing" as it seems like pretty obvious vandalism, but there's another dubious entry-- "Lobster racing." Google turns up references to at least one actual lobster racing event; should we therefore keep that entry despite it being a redlink? 69.111.191.86 (talk) 03:27, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
