Ladytron are NOT electroclash
[edit]The band existed before this term was coined by some journalists. Ladytron also rejected this tag. For example:
Were you uncomfortable with the media lumping you in with the electroclash movement during your early days?
We were always lumped in with bands we sounded nothing like and often didn't have much in common with. That was what made us uncomfortable. For that reason, we just tried to avoid any connection with the term. Our sound is never reactionary to outside elements, it’s always natural and down to experiences. source
So, don't add Ladytron on the list because they're not part of this music subgenre. Their style is electropop and New Wave. Deepblue1 (talk) 21:08, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
Some bands from back then not mentioned
[edit]I'll leave it up to the experts what is officially electroclash, but along with the bands already listed, I was listening to My Robot Friend, G.D. Luxxe, Maxx Klaxxon, A1 People, The Droyds, Kings Have Long Arms, Hiem, Punx Soundcheck, Siobhan Fahey, Atomizer, The Twin, W.I.T., Fannypack, The Most, Solvent, Playgroup, Black Strobe, Rework, The Knife, Vive La Fete, Yelle, Zoot Woman, I also consider early Cut Copy part of all this since you include The Presets, early Metronomy too as you mention Hot Chip, also early DFA like The Rapture & LCD Soundsystem since I see Le Tigre. 69.202.160.153 (talk) 14:34, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
