Video Festival Imperia not documentary film fest

[edit]

Planning to remove Video Festival Imperia from list. Seems to be regular film festival that includes some documentary. First five VFI film that I could find at IMDb were Orçe (genre: Short / Horror), Sul confine (genre: Drama / History ), Elektra Zen Suite (genre: Drama / Short), Sisifo (genre: Short / Horror) and Bulli si nasce (genre: Short / Comedy ). --EarthFurst (talk) 04:26, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

San Diego Film Festival removal recommendation

[edit]

This is a general film festival, not a documentary specific festival. I recommend this list item for deletion. 118.211.32.40 (talk) 05:44, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SilverDocs update

[edit]

SilverDocs has changed its name to AFI Docs (www.afi.com/afidocs). I recommend updating the festival's name and website on the list 118.211.32.40 (talk) 05:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just came across this list to see it functioning in large part as a web directory. Wikipedia is not a directory of film festivals and doesn't have indiscriminate collections of links (all being documentary film festivals is not the kind of discrimination we're talking about). It's extremely rare Wikipedia has a list that tries to be exhaustive (i.e. lists that include anything that exists if it fits into the scope) unless it's a closed grouping (like an alphabet, discography, list of elements, list of people who won a particular award, etc.). The list should include notable examples of the subject along with either a link to a Wikipedia article (typical, per WP:CSC) or citations of sources that demonstrate notability via significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject.

The list of film festivals, for example, follows the norm by including only Wikipedia articles.

Accordingly, I went ahead and removed those with no indication of notability. Also the external links column, because those exist in the festivals' respective articles (and because of WP:EL). — Rhododendrites talk \\ 05:50, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
