Proposal to delete the article
[edit]I created this article because I was cleaning up Special:Uncategorized categories and I came across some text in an effectively empty category that I thought was worth preserving as an article.
I don't understand why the list is judged to be pointless. Though I'm not a sports historian myself, I imagine that this list might be of interest to many sports historians. If information about defunct sports teams is pointless, then I think that List of defunct Ohio sports teams should be deleted on the same grounds.
I don't understand why the source of the information (in this case a Wikipedia category) should be considered a grounds for deletion of an article. Stepheng3 (talk) 14:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Do not delete
[edit]I originally created this article with the intent of using the material to form a category. I can't find one rational reason as to why this article should be deleted. What makes a list of defunct sports team pointless? If you look back at the local sports of a city state or country you'll find a lot of social and historical significance. This information is importance to many athletes and sports historians from Pennsylvania.
Thanks for the support Stepheng3. --Pennsylvania Penguin (talk) 20:54, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
