Proposal

[edit]

The sentence, "This list adopts definitions of "country" on a case by case basis. The United Kingdom is considered as a single country while constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands are regarded separately." should be removed. The list has since adopted the United Nations nomenclature. Jlr3001 (talk) 06:52, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Population density

[edit]

I was wondering if it would be possible to adapt this or future tables so that they include population density information. If this were possible then perhaps column titles might read something like this

Rank by
Population
Rank by
Pop.density
Country / Territory Population 2010
OECD estimate
area
(km²)
Pop.density
(#/km²)
Example Example Example Example Example Example

I think this would add a lot more meaningful data to the content but with a lot more complexity.

I believe that would be a helpful addition. I'll work on it. Jlr3001 (talk) 14:31, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vatican City is a sovereign state. Why is it not included in the list? Kelisi (talk) 17:11, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

well only countries of 100,000 thousand people are on this list, if the list was explanded like the "List of countries by population in 1900 list" so Pitcairn islands, Falkland Is, Vatican city and any other lightly populated territory is not on there, but theres 195 countries if all of the countries plus Vatican are included there 5 other countries after this so the list has 200 countries but if all of the countries and territories are used then its more like 220 or 230 countries also the population for the United states might be too high it could only included the 50 states plus DC and none of the territories. 99.45.130.77 (talk) 19:55, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I feel like we could safely add at least every country in the UN. Plus, if others wish to be on there, it's no real effort to have 230 countries on a list. Plus, if they are sovereign entities, I don't see a problem. Jlr3001 (talk) 18:15, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

America does not have a population of 3 billion

[edit]

There is a massive error for the population of america. The number needs to be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.2.131.5 (talk) 07:07, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Population density is all wrong

[edit]

Why are all the population-density figures totally wrong? China seems okay, but India should be around 360, not 6000. Judith Sunrise (talk) 14:49, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I made some changes myself. Judith Sunrise (talk) 14:57, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
