Confused over Andrew County

[edit]

I'm somewhat confused over Andrew County, MO's entomology. "Andrew Jackson Davis" was a spiritualist, but I'm unsure if he's the same Andrew Jackson Davis who settled in St. Louis. Andrew County's page describes him as a lawyer, editor, and "prominent citizen", while Davis' page doesn't mention Missouri at all. Perhaps two people with similar names were confused? @ItsThatLemon: I think you hit the nail on the head! This doesn’t at first blush appear to the be the same person at all. Especially considering the county was organized in 1841; I hardly think they would have named it after a fifteen-year-old! I have delinked the article and will investigate this further. Create articles for Defunct Counties

[edit]

There are many examples on wiki of defunct municipalities having articles and I intend to create such counties, even a list page, especially per the info. in the book: A history of Missouri's counties, county seats, and courthouse squares. SamuelNelsonGISP (talk) 17:01, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
