Mistake to be fixed

Suggests: consolidate lists; compare features and details, not just details

Why are there a bunch of lists here. It's difficult to compare CMS the way this article is structured because they are separate lists. I would suggest the sections in this article become a column on a single unified table. If the user wants to see them organized in this way, the user can sort them this way, but is not forced to view them organized in this way.

Also, this comparison is less helpful because it really doesn't compare anything. There's no feature lists to compare. The lists here are really comparing details about each software that most users may not care about, or are less important. I came to this article because I was looking too see what CMS support integration with MediaWiki, have integrated wiki software, and various other features I find important. While the license the CMS is released under and the base language the software was written in are factors in my decision making process, ultimately, the way this article is structured is not at all helpful for the information I was looking for. This article used to be called Comparisons of content management systems, but the title was changed for the very concerns you bring up. Under ASP.NET Sitecore CMS should be listed. It was removed for some reason with a notation that Sitecore is a company and not a CMS. There is not yet a Wikipedia article for MediaCore. If you think it is sufficiently notable, you can create an article for it, but be sure you provide citations to significant coverage by reliable sources. Wikipedia isn't meant to provide exhaustive and WP:INDISCRIMINATE coverage of all human endeavour, and has guidelines on the WP:Notability of various subjects for inclusion. You and I could write a Python CMS tomorrow, and it might even be a good one, but if it's not notable, then listing it here will just make it difficult to find info on the notable stuff. If there is a really notable CMS with lots of coverage from WP:Secondary, WP:Reliable sources, but an article hasn't been written about it yet, then please go ahead and add a WP:Red link for it, along with the references that show its notability. Missing something

I may be missing something here but this list seems to be missing some of the most widely deployed CMS systems on the market. Documentum, Filenet, Opentext/Vignette. These are all major players in the CMS field but I don't see them in this list. Add phpWebLog to the list

phpWebLog was one of the first CMS weblog systems written in PHP. The last release was 0.5.3 dated 2001-10-31. phpWebLog is no longer supported, but was widely adopted in its day and was the basis for several PHP-based blog/CMS forks. Categorisation

I'm confused as to why this article is categorised by platform as it's a fairly minor consideration, all told.

If a more appropriate differentiator can't be found, all items should end up in a single table. The table(s) should list features as well as technical information. Does it have blogs, wiki, comments, rss, workflow, multiple users, plugins, skinning, etc.

Currently all the mature CMS software is lost amongst the masses of startups, and this page provides little to no benefit to anybody. Phwoar (talk) 04:05, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

I also think the implementation language classification is not a good primary index of the great variety of CMS's. There are different purposes, different storage ideas, different end uses, and more. One idea is to have multiple pages to allow different classifications to organize the tables. A simple idea is to allow sort by each column. An easy 1st step. Alfresco information is wrong / out of date.

Informix is NOT a supported database [1], while Ingres is [2]. The latest release is 3.3, not 3.2 [3]. As of v3.3 Alfresco Community is released under LGPL [4].

GCMS main article missing

Under PHP, what is GCMS?

After doing a history search, I found out that it was a direct reference (no Wikipedia article) that I believe was put in by the developer on Oct 3, 2008. The link from that time is also dead. The user who added it hasn't made any other edits on any other date. Since there is no Wikipedia article, I have removed this reference. Hey Fabian. You are welcome to create an article about Feindura, however, just make sure there is no conflict of interest and it is written from a neutral point of view. Though, I am more concerned about the notability of Feindura. For a CMS to be notable it should usually have been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself. (eg newspaper, online magazine article). CMS G3

Pines CMS

So I recently added Pines CMS to the list and it was removed because it doesn't have its own article. My question is, considering it's a very new CMS (first stable release Nov 12), is it notable enough to justify its own article? It's been around for about 3 years, but only with dev releases. It's certainly a bigger project (codebase wise) than most other CMSs on the list, but isn't as widely used. Some of its subprojects, like Pines Notify, are actually notable and fairly widely used, but not the CMS itself. And it does have quite a few development features that no other PHP CMS has. For example, a package manager and format written in all PHP. Anyway, I didn't want to create the article unless it was actually notable enough. Guywithcable (talk) 17:16, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

I have used it a lot for smaller projects, it uses XML storage files, is well developed and very active. Latest release is April 1, 2012 http://get-simple.info. I can add it myself, if there are no objections. EDIT: I just saw that it needs it's own article. I can't argue with the fact that Kirby can't be found at http://www.cmscrawler.com/tool/ since it has been launched in January. But claiming that Kirby's coding standards are low because of an article, which is out-dated and badly researched and taking that as a reason to delete Kirby seems not professionel to me at all and hurts my trust in Wikipedia. --Bastianallgeier (talk) 11:51, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Why was e107 CMS removed from the list?
