Can anyone explain why the works are listed by genre here? Most pages of this type offer a chronological order, and I think that is how this page should be as well, for which I wouldn't even have to mention that Ligeti, generally, did not work in genres. Some of his pieces fit in a genre alright, but the titles are deceiving, and most of the categories here are ambiguous. Kammerkonzert, for one, has nothing to do with the Piano Concerto, it is a piece for chamber ensemble. He wrote one opera. Musica ricercata lightly touches multiple genres. Some of his works are written for typical instrumentation, 2 string quartets, a couple of orchestral works, solo works, but quite a bunch are not, like Aventures and the like.
I suggest a large re-edit, for a purely chronological concept. It is not only more logical, more pleasing to the eye (up to the respective pair of each), but also easier to search and comprehend for the average brain. Anapazapa (talk) 03:31, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
