Highland community council review
[edit]The Highland section seems to need updating
The Highland Council is currently conducting a review of community council schemes with the aim of creating a single scheme to cover the whole local authority area
However, although the review includes public consultations, existing schemes seem not to have been published, and the local authority seems to have no intention of publishing them
The public is being consulted, but seem not to have been informed as to what they are being consulted about
This may be because the local authority wants to hide the extent to which it has disregarded due process, as laid down by legislation, when making historic changes to community council arrangements

In a recent letter to myself the Highland Council's chief executive has agreed to put existing schemes on the local authority's website, but I have yet to see this actually done

- I am not sure Highland's community councils are all that different from the agreed schemes. There are a number of name changes, but the major difference appears to be that the list of existing community councils is missing a page for Ross and Cromarty (anything starting with a letter in the second half of the alphabet isn't there!).
