B
[edit]Under B Magnetic Field is not listed as a possible thing to call it, though alternate name like Magnetic Flux Density are given. I can cite textbooks that call B the Magnetic Field as well, so could that be added to the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.66.208.145 (talk) 17:51, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
Question
[edit]What are the bold symbols? What is the significance of the bold, and shouldn't it be stated in the article?
Koonboi (talk) 04:48, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
the article now states "bold text indicates that the quantity is a vector." 157.131.109.46 (talk) 10:49, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Alphabetize and speed of light
[edit]somebody wants to alphabetize?
Is it just me or did we forget c? You know, the speed of light? —Preceding unsigned comment added by N88819 (talk • contribs) 20:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
This isn't a stub
[edit]It provides all the information this article should provide, so I removed the stub designation. It could use some elaboration, but it doesn't need much.
Incorrect capitalisation
[edit]Capitalisation of unit names is not in accordance with SI, please research, correct and add explanation. GilesW (talk) 19:01, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
Separate section for constants
[edit]I was wondering if constants (such as c, e, pi, etc.) should be put in a separate section/table. I would suggest the constant table's columns would be for the symbol (c), what the symbol represents (speed of light in a vacuum), and the quantity (299,792,458 meters per second (m/s)).

Stiffness
[edit]I noticed that stiffness (k) is not listed here. It is my understanding that it is a common physics notation, so is there a reason it shouldn't be here, or should it be added? — Tuxipεdia(talk) 21:24, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware of any reason to not include it, so I added it a while ago. Proxima Centari (talk) 15:08, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
Capitalization matters
[edit]please stop combining entries for upper and lower case letters (e.g. Σ and σ) as they have distinct meanings. summation operator is always Σ and never σ. when the table entries are combined with rowspan, it's not clear which symbol corresponds to which meaning. 157.131.109.46 (talk) 10:33, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Additional meaning for μ not listed
[edit]μ is also the attenuation coefficient with SI unit m^-1 213.120.213.250 (talk) 09:27, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Missing
[edit]Here is a list of missing items: The piezoelectric tensor, matrix for the direct piezoelectric effect, and matrix for the converse piezoelectric effect which are mentioned here, piezoelectric stress coupling, small-strain component, dielectric matrix mentioned here, seebeck coefficient, Thomson coefficient, Peltier coefficient, Einstein tensor, metric tensor, stress–energy tensor, scalar curvature (in Einstein field equations), impendence,Minkowski metric compressive stress, Yield, surface energy, compressive strength, toughness, bulk modulus, P-wave modulus. C: Constant of integration
[edit]The "constant of integration" is not a physical quantity. It does not belong on this list. Elert (talk) 22:56, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
