MacEwan

[edit]

Grant MacEwan College has dropped the word "college" from their name, since they now offer full four-year undergrad degrees. I'm putting them on here.Kevlar67 02:17, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Repurpose

[edit]

A list of four isn't worth having a list at all, we should broaden the scope to indlude colleges, etc. Kevlar67 (talk) 00:20, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Go nuts. GreenJoe 00:34, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just did! Kevlar67 (talk) 00:43, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I moved up the Uni's as they weren't easy to find, and likely that's the first thing people look for. (If not they should have been right under the public colleges, which they weren't.) Also, seeing as this is a list, I removed an large section below "Other" that stuck out as original research. GreenJoe 01:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the "embedded schools" part because it only applies to U of A and it really belongs in that article. I also removed the private degree schools part because none of the counterparts to this list have those included. GreenJoe 15:26, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I will disagree with you on that. Which part of WP:OR does it violate?

... unpublished facts, arguments, speculation, and ideas; and any unpublished analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to advance a position.

The facts were published by the Alberta Government, a reliable source, and they advance no argument, simnply state the number of private colleges, for example. That is the basis of what a list should do. Kevlar67 (talk) 19:13, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Macewan and Mont Royal could become "universities" (but they aren't yet)

[edit]

That's what the news story I read in the Macewan student paper said. The article doesn't seem to reflect that. Intercamp, "MacEwan and MRC could add University to name". --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 21:09, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Revert to match Gov't source

[edit]

The Government of Alberta legal defines what is a college and what is a university. I have reverted several changes that deviated from the government source. For a breakdown of Alberta's entire post-secondary system by the government, please see Advanced Education and Technology > Post-Secondary System. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 19:59, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
