The only Independent Candidate in the 2024 parliamentary election in the Asawase Constituency is RAFIK ALHASSAN and the last candidate on the parliamentary ballot paper being the fifth position. The NPP, the LPG, the NDC, the PPP and the Independent Candidate (Rafik Alhassan) remains the order on the ballot paper.
His idea to create Electorial Area Secretariat for each of the fifteen (15) electorial areas so that the Assembly man and the unit committee members could have an office to enhance and promote effectiveness, efficiency and continuity has truly turn to have the potential of changing the fortunes of the people of Asawase. Coupled with the vision of creating employment via the proper coordination and collaboration of the local government- thus beefing up all the agencies under the municipal with personnel coined out from the Member of Parliament Special Initiative Program (SIP) for all the 15 electorial areas under the Electorial Area Secretariat program. Furthermore the employment of unemployed tertiary graduates to argument the short school sessions but long vacation periods of the free SHS and the feasible practicality of the 24 hour economy with certain services delivery have instilled fear in his contesting opponents giving them a good chase for their money. His ALLAHU AKBAR motto resonates with the majority of the electorate and the vision statement of " Let's build Asawase Human Resources capacity together,as catalyst for developmental growth" seems to be well articulated in the proper integration and empowerment of electorial areas into the local government structure, collaborating and coordinating with the local government, policing and supervising the affairs of the electorial areas and the assembly through the initiated Member of Parliament Representatives in every Electorial Area Secretariat.
