Kiki (Alice Prin)

[edit]

Alice Prin was a well known person in her lifetime. It is reputed that she died penniless. Where she was buried remains somewhat a mystery but most sources claim that she was buried in Thiais. Where her grave was cleared in the mid 1970's. Philippe Landru, a French historian who specialises in cemeteries (His website) is clear about this. Even this article itself suggests this. So why is she listed in the burials in Montparnasse? JHvW 20:43, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tania Rachevskaia

[edit]

The story of this grave is a grim one. Tania Rachevskaia was a Russian medical student who had an unhappy love affair with a Romanian junior doctor. She commited suicide after the affair ended (reputedly on december 5th, 1910). The young doctor was a friend of Brâncuși, the Romanian sculptor. Brâncuși let the young man pick one of his works as an adornment of the grave. The young man chose The Kiss. The grave has since become a tourist attraction and is under constant video surveillance.
