Madonna sales update?

[edit]

The Madonna album sales stated in this article were published in 1993 already. I'm sure Madonna didn't sold ZERO in the past 30 years (especially when her new album releases were all even certified in Brazil - even her live albums) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.138.77.21 (talk) 19:51, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Updating "Best selling international artists in Brazil "

[edit]

Since the best-selling artists list was missing many citations, I am updating it using three criteria:

1 - When adding to this page, please ensure that your claims are sourced. This means that you must provide the location of the claim. This can be a book, television show, web page, or anything else that meets policies for verification (see WP:V) and sourcing (see WP:RS). It cannot be, among other things, other pages in Wikipedia, forums on web pages, blogs or fan sites. DO NOT USE the artist's home or other "official" pages. No first-party sources. Unsourced additions will be removed.

2 - Certified sales exclusively will be used to avoid inflated sales figures. Sales inflation or exaggeration is frequently practiced by record companies for promotional purposes.12

3 - Only artists with 500 000 in sales or more will be used. This done to prevent the list from being too long.

WHY WHITNEY HOUSTON ISN'T HERE ?

Hi,I noticed that Whitney Houston is not in that list of best selling international artists in Brazil, nevertheless The Bodyguard's soundtrack which is credited as a Whitney 's album is the only english CD to reach 1 million sales in Brazil ! Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.190.1.45 (talk) 17:37, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My Name Is Gretchen

[edit]

According to pt:Anexo:Lista de recordistas de vendas de discos no Brasil, Grethcen's album pt:My Name Is Gretchen has sold 5 million copies. There is also a source, #43, but didn't bother to check it, since it seems to be portuguese. 82.141.74.66 (talk) 09:23, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
