New Guinness World Records to be added

I can't add them right now but I've already archived them on the Wayback Machine:

--Chiyako92 08:32, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

@Chiyako92: my phone bit the dust 20-ish mins ago or so but I managed to snag some time on the pc before the rest of the house wakes up so I'll add them now. If you don't see me around much for the next few days/not responding on talk pages, well you'll know why. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 09:38, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: Thank you. --Chiyako92 17:07, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

@Carlobunnie: Guinness World Records just added 5 new records today following the release of BTS new single Butter [1] here.

  • Most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)
  • Most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)
  • Most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours - Butter
  • Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)
  • Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)

If you could please add these to the table too. CookyMooky (talk) 16:15, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

@CookyMooky:  Done Paper9oll (🔔📝) 16:35, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@CookyMooky: I know you usually ask me, but just remember that you can also make the additions to the table too. GWRs are easy to follow (you can just copy the format of previous entries+type in the new info). Myself or another editor will always do any cleanup afterwards if needed. And thank you Paper9oll for adding them. I was editing the Butter article when Cooky posted so I couldn't get to it just then. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 17:04, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: No problem, just helping out. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 17:09, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: I can do the basic editing but I still have issues with achieving the links. This is why I always ask you guys to edit it in my place. I didn't want to just do the half work and mess up the table for u guys. CookyMooky (talk) 17:38, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@CookyMooky: would you like me to walk you through it? I taught another editor how to archive refs a little while back, when he was just starting out, and now he does it perfectly all on his own. If yes, I can msg you on your talk page. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:08, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: Oh that would be great. I highly appreciate it. Thanks a lot! Also please don't mind my late replies as I am pretty much inactive here; most of the times actually because of school. CookyMooky (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@CookyMooky: ok, look out for a msg from me then. And late replies are fine. I can't always reply to msgs right away either, esp lately since I can only move as fast as this old (and partially broken) phone allows me to, so I get it.-- Carlobunnie (talk) 21:19, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

iHeartRadio Music Award for Favourite Music Video Choreography

I think the iHeartRadio Music Award for Favourite Music Video Choreography might be awarded to Son Sung-deuk, not to BTS, judging from the Vulture article used as citation, iHeart press release and tweet, and also this Kpop Herald report and BTS thank you message, which only included the Best Fan Army and Best Music Video awards. --Chiyako92 09:48, 28 May 2021 (UTC)

Prêmio Tudo Information and RTHK

Hello, kindly review these 2 awards below:
- Prêmio Tudo Information 2021 (this is different from the BreakTudo awards). BTS won in 3 categories here: Link
- RTHK 32nd International Pop Poll Awards. BTS won in 2 categories here: Link

I couldn't find the secondary sources for these. Facts Spiller (talk) 13:37, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Nickelodeon Mexico Kids' Choice Awards

BTS is nominated for Nickelodeon Mexico Kids' Choice Awards in "BOMBA K-POP" (in Spanish) category. Source:1 Thank you. -ink&fables «talk» 11:02, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Joox Music Awards

What are your thoughts on this award show? The thailand article is poorly written+poorly sourced, and while I've had interactions w it on other artists awards pages I've always been on the fence abt it in general. BTS won 3 awards tonight at the Indonesian edition so I wanted to know how ppl felt about adding Joox to the table, if it should be etc. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 06:28, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

If you have proper source to add then go ahead. I also checked they have won 3 awards in 2021,not sure about previous editions though. Data For Life (talk) 19:09, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

@Data For Life: that's not how it works. One article by NME on nominations this year doesn't automatically mean we're good to go. What makes the Joox Indonesia awards notable? Has it received significant coverage by multiple reliable sources? Is there enough coverage to build a suitably sourced article about it? If not, then it shouldn't be in the table at all. This would be a good read for you to understand why I mentioned all of that. The award being listed on other award articles has no bearing on its inclusion in this page. The Thai awards article is written like a promotional ad for the music service itself and lacks satisfactory sources to prove it is a notable topic for WP. A simple google search shows limited reliable coverage of the Indonesian edition. I have reverted your addition and I'm notifying Paper9oll for when he comes back online so he is aware of why. -- Carlobunnie (talk)

By the way what about weibo Starlight Awards. How about adding that also? They won one award in 2020 as far as i know, not sure about other editions. Data For Life (talk) 19:12, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Same as above. Can you firmly prove its notability? If so, then it can be considered. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 06:45, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

Kbs world radio

Bts has been nominated for 1. Artist of the year 2. Boy group of the year 3. Song of the year

Should this be added in the list? I don't know about previous years (haven't searched about it) but is it just a survey? or eligible enough to be added in the list. Data For Life (talk) 15:06, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

@Data For Life: it's a non-notable fan-voted survey by the radio station (as literally stated in their graphic on the website), nothing of import to be included here. If you search this talk page's archives, you should be able to find where it was mentioned for exclusion when we revamped the page. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:07, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

No source for MMA Legendary Performance

The current source for MMA 2021 doesn't support the Legendary Performance win. The whole ceremony was uploaded to 1theK YouTube channel, but I could only find the nominations (at 14 and 24 minutes – and at 26 minutes there's an additional nomination for BTS: Legendary Performance for Spring Day at MMA 2017). Maybe someone else manages to find the moment when they announced the win. --Chiyako92 15:33, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

@Chiyako92: In the video at 13:45 the host announces the performances with "옆에 퍼포먼스 베스트를 모아 봤습니다 보시면서 역주 어떤 곡이 또 하면 좋을까 점쳐 보시죠" (we've gathered the best performances for you etc etc) and at 23:50 "자 그러면 이어서 MMA의 역대 퍼포먼스 베스트 두번째도 함께 만나보시죠" (lets watch together MMA's best performances ever once again or smt along those lines). Then she says how these were legendary performances and moves on to talk about other things. No mention of nominations and I couldn't find anything on Naver or Twitter. So I don't think thats a real award tbh, more like a highlight of previous editions. - Ïvana (talk) 18:16, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
@Ïvana: Thank you. Should we remove it from the table, then? No source about the MMA wins talks about it (the only thing I could find yesterday was a screenshot) and it looks more like a fan poll than an actual award (MMA called it an "event"). --Chiyako92 14:00, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
I would remove it since nothing indicates it is an actual award. Pinging @Carlobunnie: so she sees it! - Ïvana (talk) 14:24, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
I'm also thinking it was perhaps just a poll event (another award show had something similar a while back for the most legendary performance by a daesang winner or something like that). I left it for the time being cuz I was going though all the articles on Naver to see if it was mentioned in any of them, but I'm fine with not including it. Thought it was odd I hadn't seen it listed in any of the articles covering the wins so far. [Edit] I rmvd it. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 21:11, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Addition of tokopedia and visionary award(2021 & 2020)

In my opinion it's wrong to always judge the value of an award on the basis of how much its popular or getting coverage in west. As far as tokopedia is concerned it's a very very big Indonesian e-commerce company. They might have hosted the award show for the first time but that doesn't means it's not notable award. I know they have literally given awards to everyone but doesn't many awards show has a powerful investor and these types of award giving? (look at AAA for example). Imo it should be added in the list.

2. About this visionary award it's given by cj entertainment in south korea (of course it won't be creating buzz in us) but that doesn't mean it's not worth to be included here. Was given to 10 people in 2020 and 6 in 2021. Or if you want let me include in other accolades then.

The thing is I alway see any US award or company / list easily mentioned but that doesn't mean an award show of Indonesia or Malaysia or south africa or Netherlands or chile etc isn't worth to be added (even though they might be one of the most important awards for the artists in that country). The list shouldn't be US biased Data For Life (talk) 15:26, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

 Comment: Tokopedia WIB Indonesia K-Pop Awards doesn't look to have much coverage, a quick search on Google return lackluster results of which most sources are WP:SPS with no indication of editorial oversight. For the 2021 Visionary Award, I'm not sure why that wasn't added as the 2020 version of Visionary Award was there under MAMA 2020 because it was mentioned live during the ceremony. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:42, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Visionary 2021 has been added. I honestly just kept forgetting to include it. Data For Life the Tokopedia award is non-notable and will not be added. And the page is not US-biased. We include awards from multiple countries (Germany, Sweden, latin america etc.) as long as they're notable according to WP's criteria. Try adding a random award that doesn't meet notability requirements (regardless of who awards it in which country) to any other featured list and other editors will tell you the same thing or revert it asap. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 21:43, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
