Coolidge's dates wrong

[edit]

Either this table, where it says Thomas Jefferson Coolidge (I advise you append ", Sr." to his name) served 1893–1893, is wrong, or the article linked to him, which says "1892–1893," is.

John Adams

[edit]

John Adams says that he was the first Minister Plenipotentiary, appointed September 1778, but he quit and left for the United States on March 8, 1779. This list, on the other hand, doesn't mention Adams, and says that Franklin was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary in September 1778. Which is correct? John Adams cites the biography by McCullough, but unfortunately I do not have it handy. Bruce leverett (talk) 03:29, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The above was wholly erroneous, based on an incorrect reading of John Adams. I am tempted to just remove it, but I guess that striking it out is less likely to cause confusion. Bruce leverett (talk) 23:36, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
