Date Night

[edit]

Date Night is not an action movie, There is no blazing guns, broken glass, quick one-liners. Andrzejbanas is a dicksucker of allmovie, he thinks all allmovie lists about a movie is true, when it is not. Allmovie lists Inglorious Basterds as an adventure film and Cohen % Tate as drama and action when it is a thriller. 201.13.196.43 (talk) 21:50, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Several more sources calling it an action comedy Film Journal, Poptimal, Empire Movies, Star Pulse (this site also mentions the quick one liners), CBC, Hollywood.com, NME. Yep. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:04, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comingsoon

[edit]

Should we let cites from comingsoon be used as a source? Just looking at the entries, it doesn't even have Western tagged for Jonah Hex so I'm not sure how valid it is. We don't have a wikipedia article for Comingsoon either. Any thoughts? Andrzejbanas (talk) 21:51, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As there have been no objections, I'll be reverting these edits. Andrzejbanas (talk) 12:26, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Town

[edit]

Please only add films with sources that explain more than just the genre. This source is from a spanish site that does not credit an author. Their definition of the genre here is not specific enough from adventure or action. I wouldn't consider it valid. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:43, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've found a more reliable source [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.43.37.10 (talk) 22:46, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hobbit

[edit]

Per WP:UNDUE, we should only add things added by common sources. For example, "If there is a conflict of information in various reliable sources, then list only the common published nations. ". Here are some sample sources for genre for The Hobbit:

  • Queensland Times "[Hobbit fantasy film receives ringing endorsement".
  • The Hindu: "genre: fantasy adventure"
  • Paste Magazine "the Hobbit won’t overwhelm the thrill felt by many (maybe most?) of finally seeing some of the fantasy genre’s most iconic scenes brought to life."
  • Allmovie "Genre: Fantasy: SUB-GENRES, Fantasy Adventure, Sword-and-Sorcery"
  • New York Daily News : ""'The Hobbit' premiere: Peter Jackson's fantasy epic is eye-popping"
  • The West Australian
  • The Independent "Kaihoka is full of wild scenery that lends itself to fantasy films." "“They’re lonely, surreal gnarled trees limestone rocks behind them and set in a big valley; rocks are always interesting for a fantasy film, they give it a bit of structure.”
  • Hollywood Reporter "NewLine/MGM’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, director Peter Jackson’s fantasy epic opening overseas day-and-date with its domestic bow"
  • Global Times "The latest fantasy from the "The Lord of the Rings" director will roll up 36.7 million US dollars in ticket sales during Friday-Sunday period".

With these sources and the rule above, we should only use the most common genre. In this case, it's fantasy. So, in this case we should not consider it an action film.Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:22, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Production

[edit]

Before adding a Flag icon to Iron Man 3, please add to the conversation here Talk:Iron_Man_3#Chinese_co-production to figure out if it should classify as simply an American production, or an American-Chinese co-production? Andrzejbanas (talk) 10:50, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Production countries

[edit]

Please do not add production countries without a source. Like everything in the list, without the production country needs to be sourced. If you do not have a source, find one. If you are unsure about citing sources, I can assist you here on the talk page. Kick ass, Inception and Scott Pilgrim.

[edit]

Okay i am here. Now Scott Pilgrim is produced by Dentsu (Japan) and Big talk (UK), Kick ass is produced by Marv (UK) and Inception is produced by Syncopy inc, (UK). So can we now please make the edits? 88.98.30.181 (talk) 15:02, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Where is your source on these statements? For everything you want to add on Wikipedia, you need a reliable source. If you want to add them you need to find sources backing your claims. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:56, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The sources add do not reflect the genre and the year statement is not clear in its meaning. I can't find anything on the BFI site stating that year indicates a release year or a copyright year. The genre also is not even mentioned as action for Inception. So why were they removed? Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:21, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Allmovie

[edit]

When I go on the Allmovie website and I search for a film, it doesn't find it. I think the Allmovie links are dead, what do you think?86.166.153.232 (talk) 10:26, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

They appear to be down for now. Perhaps some could be archived? Let's give it some time to see if the site fixes itself first maybe. Andrzejbanas (talk) 12:48, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. BTW I have sent them an E-mail about the 3 films (KA, IN & SPVTW) and they are going to get back to me. 86.166.153.232 (talk) 16:43, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was also wondering if they do shut down then can I add those countries to Kick Ass, Inception and Scott Pilgrim vs the World? And I have also E-mail'd the BFI and they are going to credit Dentsu as a production company for Scott Pilgrim vs the World.86.166.153.232 (talk) 16:51, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
