List of Wisconsin weekly newspapers? Does that mean, like, "alternative" papers? Such as...

The Isthmus (Madison) - http://www.thedailypage.com/

The Shepherd Express (Milwaukee) - http://www.shepherd-express.com/

and would The Onion count? - http://www.theonion.com

or is this supposed to be more like... Wisconsin State Journal, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, etc., which have large Sunday editions?

I assume the former, but...?

What I'm thinking is that this would be all the papers that don't fall under the daily list. Maybe somewhere it should say that it includes semiweeklies.

If anyone wants to help, the master list is at http://www.legis.state.wi.us/lrb/bb/05bb/787-801.pdf. The trick is finding the company (where applicable) that publishes the papers, not just the name of the person in charge. For instance, all the ones by Cristy Garcia-Thomas on that list are Community Newspapers.

The Onion is based out of Manhattan now (alas).

This is helpful in determining parent companies: http://vendornet.state.wi.us/vendornet/paprates/5a-1.asp

I'm removing links to Web sites that are more or less the address of the publishing company (e.g. cninewsonline.com, hometownnewsgroup.com). The standard I'm applying is whether the site has news content. --Dmp348 18:55, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
