Expansion Needed

[edit]

This article needs to be expanded to include information on members of Congress who died in office prior to the 1990s. --TommyBoy (talk) 01:34, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

While conducting research relating to my previous suggestion that this article should be expanded, I came across the Political Graveyard website's lists of U.S. Senators Who Died While Still Holding Office [1] and U.S. Representatives Who Died While Still Holding Office [2], and I was wondering if this article could be expanded based upon information from those two lists. --TommyBoy (talk) 22:26, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting this list

[edit]

Due to the size of this list making it difficult to edit, I am splitting it into the following sutopic lists:

What is going on here?

[edit]

Why are the individual dated lists redirecting to here? The 2000-present deaths are currently not listed anywhere. john k (talk) 17:00, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Died in office

[edit]

The lede says " For a list of members of Congress who were murdered while they were in office during that same time (with the exception of Congressman Pinckney, as he is listed below), see List of United States Congress members killed or wounded in office." Why is only one example listed on this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:241:301:4360:24E8:3A29:12C:7A66 (talk) 18:09, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I count 3 listed as Assassinated, 1 as Murdered, 1 as Murdered by gunshot, 1 as Shootdown of a Korean flight by the Soviet military, 1 as jumped out of a hotel window, 1 as self-inflicted gunshot wound, 1 as stabbed himself to death, 2 as suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning, 2 as suicide by firearm, and 1 as suicide by jumping out of a window (the other one wasn't specifically listed as suicide). All of those are listed on this page. There may be some listed on the other page that are listed here as Data Missing. You can certainly help fix those, if that is an issue. Split

[edit]

It seems that this article was previously split into separate pages, but now has been merged back into one. Why was the decision to split made and then reversed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:241:301:4360:31B9:96CD:81DE:B455 (talk) 01:36, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
