Non-notables

[edit]

I am moving some individuals from the article to here because there is insuffient evidence of their being notable or no proof of their connection to the Society. They can be restored to the article once the needed source is found.

  • Edward Henry (Union, 1793), lawyer and son of Patrick Henry
  • Alfred J. Morrison (Philanthropic, 1895), Assistant Librarian of Congress
  • Hugh Rose Pleasants (Union, 1826), editor of the Richmond Dispatch (now the Richmond Times-Dispatch) -- could not find proof of this affiliation
  • Graves Haydon Thompson (Philanthropic, 1927), Author and Professor at Cumberland University and Hampden–Sydney College for 54 years
  • Kemp L. Chester (Hon. Union-Philanthropic, 2016), Director of the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy
