Could someone with enough time to do this make a map? Also I dispute the "low priority" status assigned.

[edit]

Could someone with enough time to do this do a spot check to see whether the data does reflect the census cited and then make a map image? I also have issue with this being listed as "low priority", since it is both super interesting from a variety of historical, demographic, geographic, and political angles, and black separatism vs integration has been a major issue in the american Black community historically. -(76.176.223.57 (talk) 04:13, 28 April 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

Seems to me that we could cover these topics together; racial percentages change all the time of course, but in small enough amounts that the contents of the 2000 and 2010 lists are rather similar. Plus, once the 2020 Census comes out, we'll need another list if we want to keep this up. I just don't see the point of separate lists.

If we merge, we could have a chart:

State County 2000 % 2010 % Map
Alabama Bullock 69.5 70.2
Virginia Emporia (city) 56.2 62.5
Missouri St. Louis (city) 51.2 <50
Arkansas Jefferson <50 55.1

Row 1 is a typical county (almost everything in this list); row 2 is a Virginia city (to show how we'd handle a non-county); and rows 3 and 4 are jurisdictions in which the population has grown past 50% or fallen under 50% during the time period shown. I'm suggesting colors because they're more visible than merely having the <50 in the requisite column, but please don't object to the idea of colors since they merely reflect what's in the text. Obviously the formatting can vary a great deal; this is just what comes first to mind. Nyttend (talk) 20:38, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge as proposed by Nyttend; the table format is a good way of presenting such numerical data, and would be ready for expansion with the 2020 census data. Klbrain (talk) 13:49, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:African-American gospel which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 23:17, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
