Chronology

[edit]

If there are no objections, I'm going to put this into chronological order from date of first joining the band. Ac@osr 16:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I was thinking of doing that but couldn't be arsed. Maybe a little text about people as well, where nessassary? bit like this:

Marc Riley (1978-82)

[edit]
Main article: Marc Riley
  • Bass, guitar

Blah blah blah blah blah.

or something. SaltyWater 19:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Granny On Bongos

[edit]

Wasn't sure whether or not to put this most famous of "members" in. What do we think? Ac@osr 20:12, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Put it in at the bottom in a trivia/jokes section, I'd say.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 18:55, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't really want to have a "trivia" section as such but you may well be right. The frequency to which it is referred to by others made me feel it was appropriate where it is. If anyone feels strongly enough, they can move it. Ac@osr 01:58, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Landslide Victory

[edit]

"Landslide Victory" was a pro-Conservative composition somewhat at odds with the group's left-wing political stance and was never performed.

Hmmm...this is debatable, to say the least. Mark E Smith's political stance has been the subject of much debate over the years, for one thing. And do we know the political views of the other former members with any certainty?80.39.175.102 (talk) 19:44, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is discussed by Baines and Bramah in Ford's book - the group had a pretty well defined politic at that stage in their existance, regardless of MES's relative erraticism over the following years. I'll dig up the book and chuck in a page reference. Ac@osr (talk) 10:46, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
