Akuha is not related to other sisters by blood

She in not their half-sister but rather stepsister. In Rosario+Vampire II official site she is described as Moka's stepsister. Shuzen Akuha (talk) 17:54, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Can someone check this site and its translation? Google translate says sister-in-law which is rather weird since none of the siblings are married. In chapter 29, Mizore and Tsukune speculate that Moka has three half-sisters (Viz English translation) or sisters with different mothers. In chapter 30 she is welcomed into the family, and some of the other vampires mention "the boss' illegitimate child" but it doesn't not say that she had a different father from Issa Shuzen, just a mother that died, and that she grew up in China away from Issa until then. -AngusWOOF (talk) 07:47, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Moka's Character Section

I know she has her own separate page, but Moka's character summary on this page is very short compared to some of the other characters which is odd considering she is more of a protagonists than the other girls.

I've trimmed down the other main character summaries to its basics and footnoted or deleted some of the superfluous details. The challenge on the Moka and Tsukune articles is to show impact and relevance (and references) to the manga and anime world. -AngusWOOF (talk) 00:36, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Name formatting

As the VIZ manga is the longest running English adaptation of this series, I suggest using their English spellings first in describing the characters and terminology. After that, consider the Funimation dub and sub, and the last resort, translating the Japanese manga and media. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:01, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Here's what has been worked out so far, with anchors for the alternate spellings:

• Koko Shuzen vs. Kokoa Shuzen: Use Koko per the Viz English manga spelling for all her character descriptions except for the sentences pertaining to the anime series such as List of Rosario + Vampire episodes, as the -ah sound at the end of her name is distinctly pronounced.

• Similarly, use Ruby Tojo for manga, and Rubi Tojo for anime.

• Mysterious Bat will be used for the character header, as he has a prominent role in the anime series first. His alternative names (Ko, Ko-chan, Batty, The Bat, Nazo Komori) are acceptable depending on the article.

• Mizore is described as a "snow fairy" in both the Viz English and the Japanese manga. The "snow woman" (anime) and "abominable snowgirl" (manga) are secondary descriptions. Do not use yuki-onna on its own as that is a jargon term not listed in the English manga.

• Moka: use "Moka's inner personality" when she transforms. Use "Outer" and "Inner" sparingly and only when they actually call each other that, which is in the middle to later part of Season II manga. Moka Vamp is how she is credited in the anime, but only applies to her closing credits where she is voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard. Use the context to describe her actions such as "Moka transforms and defeats Saizo." or "Moka reverts to her outer pink-haired state."

• "Learn your place" and "Know your place" are both acceptable for Moka's catchphrase. They are both used in the manga and anime. Neither version is more dominant.

• Kalua vs. Kahlua Shuzen. Interchangeable in English manga. Preference is Kalua.

• Kiria vs. Kiriya have both been used in the English manga so they are interchangeable.

• Fangfang and Lingling Huang, according to volumes 6 and 7, without hyphens. It is okay to call them yasha and jiangshi per the manga's Viz version. The Eastern order is occasionally used but they are still referred to by given name.

Kahlua is okay for primary spelling as it is used in the later volumes such as Season II, volume 12. Also Tohofuhai as one word, as also confirmed by Season II, volume 12. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:10, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

Irrelevant Information

For what reason are all the quotations from fan sites included? Who cares what "Lumbard" or "Hogset" or any other anime fanboy thinks about this show or any of the characters in it? Putting a citation link to a review written on another website does not make that review relevant — nor does it make the personal opinions expressed in those reviews informative, or worth including on Wikipedia.

The quotes were added to summarize reception about the specific characters from critics in the manga/anime industry. WP:ANIME/RS says Anime News Network and THEM Anime Reviews are reliable sources as long as the reviewer is on staff (Hogset and Martin write regularly for those sites). Requesting mergers of Tsukune Aono and Moka Akashiya to the character list:

• For Tsukune Aono, even though he is the major character in the series, he has little notability outside of it. The bulk of the article relies on his detailed abilities and analysis of such (possible WP:SYNTH and WP:OR) casually sourced only by the chapters and episodes themselves. The reception section, which is the only section with references to secondary sources, is what I pulled from the main list pertaining to Tsukune.

• For Moka Akashiya, she also has little notability outside of the series, besides a poll where she ranks 40 among vampires. Again, the article relies on personal analysis of the character and the only secondary sources are in the Reception section, which is also a subset of the main character list reception. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:20, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Please help reference and shorten

Please assist in shortening the descriptions for the supporting characters. They should describe their key role in the story and all statements should be supported by chapter, volume, or episode references. If there are interesting side details they can be footnoted. • Questionable usage of Japanese terms for Outer and Inner. Are the English translations using terms like Omote, Ura, Kapu chuu or something? Don't forget to add Shinso to this list

Outer and Inner Moka - Inner is used in the English manga especially from Season II Volume 5-7. I will check volumes 8 and up to see if they use Outer. "Kapu Chuu" is translated to "Chomp, Slurp" in the anime. I have tweaked the verbiage so it is less confusing. The "Shinso" I have to check the Viz translations in volume 8-.

A few other terms remain which will be fleshed out in the later volumes: shinso, that dimensional sword attack, hanging palace (fairy tale HQ). Also, both the anime and manga do use Japanese terms to describe monsters like jorogumo (spider woman) -AngusWOOF (talk) 07:33, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

• Questionable structure. It seems as if minor characters are given too much of a spotlight. I suggest something like List of Tales of Symphonia characters, where minor characters have been removed or merged to a more significant character.

I deleted a bunch of the minor characters, and tried to retain ones that the JUMP.SQ external link listed, as well as ones that impact the manga and anime in a major way.

Yes, it will be up to an expert to determine which character was significant or not. As for the structure, you want to reduce the in-universe headings still. You have two sections talking about the same character (Miyabi Fujisaki) and (Masked King). It also seems it's possible to arrange the list into Protagonist, Antagonist, and other characters. For listing groups under the antagonist or other characters section, you could use a paragraph format (Cruxis and Designs in the Symphonia article), semi colon headings (List of Tales of Xillia characters#Chimeriad), or bullet points (Rozen Maiden#Rozen Maidens. They're listed as two different characters in JUMP.SQ's page which has the profiles of 24 characters from Season II. I can combine those two. As for whether someone is significant or not, I'm trying to stick with JUMP.SQ's page as well as the character profiles in front of each manga volume. • You want to avoid in-universe headings for this list (There are exceptions based on accessibility), so use headings like List of Naruto characters. Also, I just noticed you removed some groupings like "anti schooler" in the school group. Having more groupings could simplify the list for accessibility, if done right.
