This list is notable per the GNG and the WP:NRODEO which specifically mentions the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, rule #2 "Have been inducted into a national or international rodeo hall of fame such as the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum Rodeo Hall of Fame, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, or Bull Riding Hall of Fame." dawnleelynn(talk)16:58, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Dawnleelynn: The article is showing an error—search for "Error" to see it. The problem is in these lines of wikitext:
|Dr. J. Pat Evans*
|Rodeo Notable
|{{Birth date and age|1930|8|5}}
|{{death date and age|1972|10|16|2019|7|22}}
A fix which would remove the error would be to swap the two dates in the second template:
|{{death date and age|2019|7|22|1972|10|16}}
However, that asserts Evans was born 1972-10-16 which conflicts with the first template. I don't see a source. Perhaps you can fix? By the way, I'm not sure that "Dr." should be included, see WP:CREDENTIAL. Johnuniq (talk) 07:14, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnuniq: Thank you for bringing these issues to my attention. I will look at them today. I'll let you know what I find. Much appreciated. Most of the inductees have their birth dates and dates of death in their induction pages. Perhaps Evans does not. Again thanks. dawnleelynn(talk)17:01, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnuniq: I fixed the error. It was both a coding error and the wrong data. I also added a source. Regarding the policy on using titles for people, also see Titles of people. "An occasional exception is made for clarifying that person's qualifications with regard to a claim attributed in an article, but this is better explained in descriptive text." I am not sure what they mean by explaining it in text. I believe that the doctors in ProRodeo are important; they are being recognized for their work as veterinarians. dawnleelynn(talk)23:07, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. No problem about the credentials as far as I am concerned but I think you would find them to be fairly rare in articles, per the link I gave. Johnuniq (talk) 23:28, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it said use when widely known by the credentials. Every source that mentions this subject uses Dr. with the mention of him. His credentials are also easily verified as they are constantly mentioned by the PRCA and the PBR. Also true of another awarded veterinarian who was awarded the PBR Heroes and Legends honor. But it is good to think it over carefully. I will ask one of my mentors about it. Thanks! dawnleelynn(talk)23:41, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
