Merger proposal

The result of this discussion was to merge articles. Störm (talk) 06:35, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to merge Mohammad Naeem (Pakistan Air Force cricketer) into List of Pakistan Air Force cricketers. The article on Mohammad Naeem (Pakistan Air Force cricketer) is a bare collection of statistics, which does not serve to demonstrate that he meets the requirements of WP:GNG. As we have an appropriate list, I feel that the information we have available on the subject can be adequately summarised in List of Pakistan Air Force cricketers. If information later comes to date demonstrating notability, then an article can be split off at that time. Harrias talk 10:57, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Once again we are being short-sighted as to this discussion. Why are you focusing just on this single article when there are at least a dozen in any conversation regarding any Indian/Pakistani team's first class players who fall into this category? I challenge you and others to send every such article to AfD. Exclusionism only appears to exist when it suits the exclusionists. You have to wonder what they think the project's goals are. Cough. Like I've said many times, these articles should exist for every place-name first-class team, to save these discussions happening every single time. Bobo. 11:08, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Of the 11 who are blue linked, three are clearly notable. I would merge all the others - I don't think there's a single case where we know anything other than a name and the match they played for PAF. That's not enough for a stand alone biography and everything that we know can be summarised in three lines in a table. No need to AfD they are clearly merge candidates. "Clearly"? That just goes to show how much nonsense these fake criteria are. There is no "clearly". There is "yes" and "no". Anyone who believes otherwise is working against the goals of the project. Bobo. 11:16, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just to point out this doesn't just apply to this article but to other players in this category. Bobo. 11:15, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Wjemather: Courtesy ping to let you know that I have bundled other players into this discussion after your support !vote. Harrias talk 11:19, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. All meet the criteria for merging and (as far as I can tell) none meet GNG. wjematherplease leave a message... 12:02, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bundling, this rationale also applies to:

If you're so keen to do this then do this with every non-English first-class team please. While spending the time sending thousands of other articles to deletion. I'm still suspicious why you take offence to indiviudal articles when you're so familiar with this project that you know how to find dozens of others. Have fun. :) Bobo. 11:18, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
