1938 pennant
[edit]Per this article, the PCL rules were changed in 1938 such that the pennant was awarded to the team with the best record in the regular season. Accordingly, the Sacramento Solons won the President's Cup as the winner of the four-team playoffs, but the Angels were awarded the pennant as the team with the best regular-season record.
