There is an error in the numbering
[edit]Volume number 68 "Are you being served" volume 3 of 8 in "The Fourth Goddess" arc released in July 1999 has been omitted from this list. The currently listed number 68 "The battle for Keiichi" and every volume after it needs to be shifted down one and since I don't know how to do that in a timely manner without messing everything up.
Work
[edit]I'm not sure what this article needs, exactly, but it definitely needs something! Any ideas? It's a great idea, and I think we need to find a way of making it really work. Any way I can help, I'll do my best. --Dyplung 00:21, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Incorrect table
[edit]I'm pretty sure that the table is incorrect. It implies that there are some chapters that have different numbers in different editions. In fact, different editions include different numbers of chapters - the central column should have different rowspans, and the three numbering columns are useless. I'll make a start at this and hopefully other people can help out. DenisMoskowitz 01:38, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I completed the re-spanning of the unflipped books. We still need to go through and remove the "DH#" and "DH2#" columns entirely, and rename "K#" to "#", but I'll let someone else do that. DenisMoskowitz 02:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Or not - I just went ahead and did it myself. This table should be more maintainable going forward. Some of the chapter names are still unofficial translations rather than the Dark Horse names, but I'll put off fixing that for some other day. DenisMoskowitz 11:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
The flipped releases (called DH) did in fact have different chapters in the volumes, one of the main reason I started this article was to show the rather complicated order of the manga flipped version compared to the Japanese and unflipped version. As you might see the volumes wasn't even released in order by Dark Horse in the beginning, and they didn't want to split chapters with the same storyline, hence the different number of chapters compared to the original manga. Nomit84 07:18, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think we disagree. Do you think it's correct now? One thing that I think this article could use would be a brief explanation of the DH publishing history, perhaps above the table. There should probably also be a description of the original collection, "1-555-GODDESS", which was replaced by the first 3 volumes. It was published in November 1996, has an ISBN of 1-56971-207-7, and contains chapters 1, 14, 17, 18, 19, and 20. Also, would it be worth adding the collection names? DenisMoskowitz 11:57, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Any real reason that the table is split at the volume 20, or is it some technical limitation of Wikipedia?--Azarien (talk) 16:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, there are a few reasons:
- Dark Horse's translation finally matches up completely with the original version after volume 20
- 20 is a nice, even number, so it's a much more obvious and convenient splitting point than, say 17 or 24 - if the chapter list ever gets split into separate sublists, this is probably the dividing point (or one of them) that will be used
- Merging the tables would force all volumes to use the same layout used for the first 20 volumes which, for volume 21 and beyond, would merely be a bloated table layout - {{Graphic novel list}} is much more suited to this
- Hope that helps clarify it! 「ダイノガイ千?!」(Dinoguy1000) 18:34, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Format suggestion
[edit]Yeah this table you guys have going is kinda crazy so here is my suggestion...if you like it i'd be more than willing to help keep it maintained.
I am not sure about typing here, but where is the mention of the Oh My Goddess! Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses paperback book? Published in 2000 by Dark Horse I can't seem to find any information on it other than on Amazon.com and I own one so I know it exists but I would like to know where it falls on the list chronologically speaking. If you have any clues, you might want to think about adding the info to this site, after all it is an encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.59.175.163 (talk) 06:17, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- You may want to make your suggestion known at Talk:Oh My Goddess!. BTW: There are at least two reviews of those manga. (1 2) – Allen4names 07:53, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

and then you repeat the above format for DH1--88wolfmaster 20:59, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- This would mean that every chapter would be listed twice - do you really think that would be preferable? DenisMoskowitz 22:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- As strange as that sounds yes (it would not confuse me as much for sure). Or (in order to not repeat) you could just devote a section that explains that the DH1 release volumes covered different chapters. But i'm just making suggestions--88wolfmaster 20:26, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm. For a start, what about changing the order of the columns to what you have above, minus the volume headers, and moving the DH1 column to after the combined K/DH2 column? That would make the whole thing skinnier and remove half of the wierd brick effect. (We could even make that last column colspan=2 after volume 20.) DenisMoskowitz 00:15, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- I went ahead and changed the column orders, merged the K & DH2 columns, and removed the gray cells. Do you think it's any less confusing now? DenisMoskowitz 00:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah that is less confusing.--88wolfmaster 04:41, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Question: For release dates, are they the publication dates? If so, please look through the Dark Horse site. I caught the date for Volume 5 set for Feb 07. when it was actually for June 07. KyuuA4 04:54, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well it's not said anywhere on here. Seeing as publication dates can be easily checked, and release dates can't, makes sense to use only publication dates. Keep in mind, DH do push back publication dates, so Volume 5 was probably correct at the time of writting. I'm going to go through and confirm all the DH ones now anyway. --Zeal Vurte 21:03, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
there was released 45 tankobons to this date can someone investigate what chapters they contain and put it in the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.101.31.42 (talk) 15:13, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Above Images
[edit]Gotta love wikipedia and it's backwards policies and mass use of automated bots that aren't capabale of making descisions for it ;) Several of these were updated versions of the same source image so new rationale should not be needed. Irregardless a non-template rationale was already included with the correct liscene template which they all complied with.
To satisfy the stupidity of this, i've added a templated rationale and will see where it goes. But none of the previous images under the same rationale were effected by this, so seems like a bias to new images/users more than anything.
I knew there was a good reason i never wanted to contribute to another wiki again.. -_- --Zeal Vurte 04:57, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- I went through and added full page-specific rationales to each image - hopefully that will be the end of it. DenisMoskowitz 18:44, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well i already added them on the talk page (why wikipedia's policy would be to add them to a page, thus needless pushing down the more important and relveant license and file information with every usage, i don't know. Backwards policies strike again..), and hell what i provided original along with the license gave more details of a rationale than what the rationale template gives. Hence backwards policies..
I added some extra info along with the rationale to images i didn't upload and that were marked for deletion. Also put up the original lower res images from darkhorse for them if they were uploaded from elsewhere at a higher resolution. --Zeal Vurte 19:04, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Volume 1-21
[edit]What in the name of god is the deal with the style for the first 20 so volumes. It's ugly and confuing as hell, I have no idea what the fuck any of it's supposed to mean. How are the chapters sorted into volumes? It makes no sense whatsoever 173.79.31.198 (talk) 07:32, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Read the article lead for the explanation and blame Dark Horse for releasing it twice with different divisions. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 13:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- The first three volumes had three different releases, actually (and that's not counting the individual chapter releases or the serialization). Still makes my head hurt, thinking about it. =P 「ダイノガイ千?!」(Dinoguy1000) 19:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
I think the article lead is still confusingly written, and it doesn't help me know which chapters are in which volumes. The chapters are all crammed in the middle with no indication of which chapters are collected into which volume. Korikitsune0 (talk) 17:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Having written it myself, I'm acutely aware of the article's lead being overly confusing. I've been letting it sit for a few days before I come back to it and try to further rewrite/clarify it, and after that I'm going to ask for project input and advice. As for the table, this is actually much cleaner than the original setup. What chapters are in which volume is supposed to be indicated by what chapters are spanned by said volume's cells (for instance, volume 5 in the left column spans chapters 31 through 36, indicating that that volume *contains* chapters 31-36). However, I have a sneaking (and growing) suspicion that most of that will end up having to be cut before the list can hit FL status; I kinda hope not, though, considering how much time, effort, and thought I put into it. In the meantime, I'd love to hear any constructive suggestions you may have for improving either the lead or the table; this desperately needs fresh eyes. ^_^ 「ダイノガイ千?!」(Dinoguy1000) 19:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure the intro is actually correct - the first release wasn't out of order, it just dropped most of the chapters to cram 3 books into one. As mentioned higher up, "There should probably also be a description of the original collection, "1-555-GODDESS", which was replaced by the first 3 volumes. It was published in November 1996, has an ISBN of 1-56971-207-7, and contains chapters 1, 14, 17, 18, 19, and 20." DenisMoskowitz (talk) 15:01, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Considering I don't have the first release to check against (or any for that matter, unfortunately =( ), you're probably right. The details of the first few releases are really rather unclear; I've just been assuming that there were three volumes originally released because Dark Horse's website lists the next volume after 1-555-GODDESS as volume 4. I'll see how well I can reword the relevant statement in the lead to better reflect what you've said (honestly, how nice would it have been if some reliable source had already summed up the release history? =P ). 「ダイノガイ千?!」(Dinoguy1000) 19:46, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Accuracy and coverage inadequate?
[edit]Im just wondering what is inaccurate or uncovered with this page? seems well laid out, and up to date. i dont see how one thing is keeping it from moving into the b range... thoughts?...Mace Windu (talk) 18:24, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- It needs kanji and romaji chapter titles as well as volume summaries, and all the English chapter titles need to be checked against the latest English volumes. Aside from that, a sourced summary of the manga's licensing in other countries would also be nice, and I need to have another look at the lead and see what condensing and clarifying I can do now, since I've been away from it for a few months. And I still have yet to get a straight opinion on the custom table I've rigged for the first 20 volumes (necessary because there are many other series with similar differences between their Japanese and English releases)... - ok i see your point. in comparison to List of Bleach chapters, this one is moderately disorganized (ironically, OMG chapters is listed as a "c" but bleach chapters doesnt even have a rating). also, based on what i saw from the list of chapters in bleach, the table from 1-20 is wrong...anyway lets see what we can repair...Mace Windu (talk) 00:55, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- The Bleach chapter list is a Featured List - that is its class rating (the highest such rating a list can have). The table here for the first 20 chapters is intentionally formatted differently from the standard layout generated by {{Graphic novel list}} because of the differences in chapter layout between the Japanese version and the second, Wrong Number English version. I probably would have omitted the second English version altogether when first rewriting this list, except that the third release is only up to volume 12. The biggest problem with the table, though, is where to place volume summaries, although with the removal of cover characters, there's more room to work with now. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 02:58, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
