[edit]Talk List of Masters of the Horse
I have it that both Sir Robert Tyrrell (1437-post-1509)of Heron, Essex, and Sir Robert Waterton (1478-1540/41)of Walton Hall, Yorkshire were Masters of the Horse during the reign of King Henry VIII (1509-1547), but I do not know when. Sir Robert Waterton refused to acknowledge King Henry VIII as Supreme Head of the Church, and accordingly lost his properties, apparently King Henry VIII wrote him a note saying, “Waterton, I will take thy estate, but will save your life - Henry Rex”. Waterton remained a staunch Roman Catholic, but died on February 26, 1540/41
