Unsourced as to being Louisiana Creole

Bellocq certainly was Creole. If a source is needed, Al Rose's book "Storyville, New Orleans" is one. -- Infrogmation 00:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Checked these and no source in this list and no source in the original article:

Matt Forte has talked about his Creole heritage in the past:

No source demonstrating they're creole

  • Marcel Diallo (1972-) poet, writer, philosopher, artist, musician, activist and social entrepreneur[1]
  • A.P. Tureaud (1899-1972) Renowned Civil Rights attorney

references

[edit]

when checking out the references for people on this list, need to see that they are truly Louisiana Creole people (or their descendants), not just French Americans who belong on a different list. I looked at some of the articles, and some do not say anything about being Louisiana Creole. Thanks Hmains 03:41, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They shouldn't say they are "Descendants" of anybody. They need to say that the person themselves is Creole. And on that I agree with you. Mad Jack 04:51, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Armstrong

[edit]

I removed Louis Armstrong. His family were anglophone uptowners, and IIRC geneological research showed his great grandparents came from Virginia. -- Infrogmation 00:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Organization

[edit]

The names in the list need to be alphabetized and the references need to be made clear.Mcelite (talk) 22:53, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
