Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because... lab rats havve no new episodes lately. --50.136.13.32 (talk) 00:55, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
One hour specials
[edit]I saw an episode called sink or swim part 2 as a half hour episode without part 1. It had a previously on Lab Rats 68.205.75.58 (talk) 23:00, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- It originally aired as the second half of a 1 hour special and that is what the article reflects. Looks like it is being repackaged as two parts for reruns. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:40, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Credited names
[edit]The names listed for actors and their characters are the names as listed in the credits. If name enhancements are revealed in an episode that is just plot trivia that does not effect what the credits say and the credits are the official names. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:33, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Willie McGinest
[edit]For what it's worth, the credits for "Ultimate Tailgate Challenge" actually say "Willie McGinest as Willie McGinest", but that looks awkward, so I think using "himself" should be fine in this case. nyuszika7h (talk) 17:01, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- There is a subtle difference in meaning between playing himself and playing a fictional character with the same name as the actor, and making the distinction may end up being editor evaluation. Probably best to document credits exactly as displayed in the episode end credits. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:05, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Geraldo Perez: Ah, I didn't think of that. nyuszika7h (talk) 17:16, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- That reminds me, perhaps we should also do that for Will Forte, as he's usually credited as "The Voice of Eddy" (except for the episode "Human Eddy"). nyuszika7h (talk) 17:21, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- Yes. The official credits are a slice of out-of-universe content attached to the otherwise in-universe summary description and should be reported as written. Reformatting to meet our MOS as necessary, of course. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:25, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- So should it be "Will Forte as the voice of Eddy"? nyuszika7h (talk) 17:30, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- Yes as that substantially reflects the written credits and it is formatted to match rest of article content and MOS. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:35, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Nyuszika7H: Another subtle distinction is if "The Voice of Eddie" is something that is referred to that way within the episode itself as a thing or is it a description of the role. I think capping to match a description is best still unless have a real good reason to treat it as a proper noun phrase and if it is a proper noun phrase should be quoted. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:47, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Geraldo Perez: It's just a description, because Eddy is just an animated character (a computer program), except for the episode "Human Eddy", where they temporarily give him a human form. In that episode, we actually see Will Forte, and he's credited as just "Eddy".
- To make it clear, I was actually thinking "the voice of" should be included in this case, and not capitalized, I just wanted to make sure. nyuszika7h (talk) 18:32, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- That's what I understood you meant and I agree. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:10, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- So should it be "Will Forte as the voice of Eddy"? nyuszika7h (talk) 17:30, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- Yes. The official credits are a slice of out-of-universe content attached to the otherwise in-universe summary description and should be reported as written. Reformatting to meet our MOS as necessary, of course. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:25, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

- @Geraldo Perez: Ah, I didn't think of that. nyuszika7h (talk) 17:16, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
There's not much point in opening a new section for this, so I'm saying it here – the guest stars for the episodes aired so far are now all checked and corrected where needed, including Eddy. nyuszika7h (talk) 20:19, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
Forces Unite
[edit]Zap2it claims there is a 24th episode in season 3 called "Forces Unite", which aired on February 19, 2015. Does anyone know anything about this? nyuszika7h (talk) 19:22, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- I think it's just a mistake on their part. It's something that happens often with them as well. Notice how there's not an online video link for it in the guide. It's very likely an episode that was renamed and had its air date changed and they just never updated to reflect the change. See here, where it's not listed. Amaury (talk) 19:26, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
I believe that is false. That episode never aired Janebenson (talk) 22:49, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Lab Rats: On the Edge Part 1
[edit]This looks like a mistake from Zap2it. They also list "Space Colony Part 1" as S04E23. I think we should remove it for now. nyuszika7h (talk) 20:40, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Nyuszika7H: Definitely a mistake. See The Futon Critic, linked to above, where it's not like that. Amaury (talk) 20:47, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
Finale
[edit]I was going to ask if the source I found for the finale is considered reliable enough, and it triggered the spam filter. So I guess the answer is "no". (It didn't seem that reliable anyway.) nyuszika7h (talk) 22:00, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- FWIW, I've seen no advertisement for a "finale" on XD as of this past weekend or so – if "Lab Rats" was really finishing up in early February, I would think XD (and maybe Disney Channel itself) would have started showing advertising for that already... So I think the "reports" of a "finale" are bogus at this point. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 00:50, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- Now that the press release out, I see that Gravity Falls is advertised as "One-Hour Finale" but Lab Rats is advertised as "One-Hour Special Event". So it's likely not the series finale. Also, strange how Disney XD Press lists "The Vanishing Part 1" as 423, but 424 is already used by "Space Colony". It could be 425 for the second part, but we can't be sure about that. nyuszika7h (talk) 09:39, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
Series Finale summary
[edit]Is anyone going to update the List of episodes, because the Vanishing does not have a short summary of the episode and it was the last episode of Lab Rats, the original series. Wilson30337 (talk) 17:37, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
And I do not know how.

- The edit did show up, I just didn't see it. I will read everything you sent me, but I think I did a pretty good job. Thanks for helping out.Wilson30337 (talk) 14:54, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Production codes
[edit]Futon lists "(#423-60) The Vanishing, Parts 1 & 2". Not sure if the "60" is supposed to be part of the production code or just an indicator for a one-hour special. It also has "-60" for "Space Colony" and "Lab Rats: On the Edge", though Disney XD Press lists them without the suffix, so it may be just an indicator.
Anyway, it seems "The Vanishing" is one production split into two episodes. That's a bit strange considering the opposite (two productions merged into one episode) usually happened. nyuszika7h (talk) 20:31, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
- Not always, though usually, yes. Amazon has them as two separate episodes as well. http://www.amazon.com/Lab-Rats-Season-4/dp/B00UVTKUCS I think TFC has it wrong, though, where it says confirmed as canceled. It ended, it wasn't canceled. When it comes to Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, and Disney XD, most shows only go for three seasons. Very popular shows have four seasons. Only exception I can think of is iCarly, which had five seasons. I'll even say I feel like Mighty Med wasn't canceled even though it only had two seasons. Both series' endings were unresolved cliffhangers, yes, but unlike shows in the past like The Amanda Show, it was intentional. Amaury (talk) 20:35, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
- Futon says it was a single 1-hour special, not two separate episodes aired back-to-back. Supported by the special production code of 423-60. Why is this listed as two episodes in this article? I notice both Amazon and iTunes list it as two episodes here and here and we generally see support with what is actually sold but still, what was aired? Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:42, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Geraldo Perez: It aired as two 30-minute showings with commercials. Amaury (talk) 20:48, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
- Looks like Disney XD changed their minds at the last minute. Schedule guides (and press site) show what is planned not necessarily what actually happened. Amazon and iTunes basically get fed what aired so they are more likely to be correct. Production code of 423-60 looks like bad info as well then. It'll be interesting to see what the copyright office documents. I suggest not using 423 for part 2 as that is shown for part 1 on the press site. Geraldo Perez (talk) 21:03, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Production code conflicts and oddities
[edit]I am working on a cleanup of this article, but just wanted to mention this now.
Conflicts: Copyright Office, our source that's usually the authoritative source on production codes, has conflicting production codes with two of the season two episodes and is missing one production code: #207. It is listing both "Quarantined" and "Parallel Universe" as #205. After looking at The Futon Critic and thinking about it, "Parallel Universe" is wrong and should be #207. Why? The Futon Critic also lists "Quarantined" as #205, so that's more evidence that Copyright Office is wrong on "Parallel Universe." And with all the other production codes listed except #207, by process of elimination, that would make "Parallel Universe" #207.
Here's a link for convenience: https://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First Search "Disney Lab Rats" and set it to show 100 records per page. There will be two pages.
Oddities: There are three oddities, and they involve the following season three episodes:
- "Sink or Swim": Copyright Office lists this as both 301–302 and 399.
- "You Posted What!?!": Looking at the main listings page, this has production code 3-100; however, if you click on the link for that episode, it shows more information, which includes 314–315 for the production code under "Application Title."
- "Rise of the Secret Soldiers": Similar to the above, looking at the main listings page, this appears to be listed as 301; however, if you click on the link for that episode, it shows more information, which includes 321–322 for the production code under "Application Title."
In any case, for the conflicts, I will also be adding in hidden notes during my cleanup to explain what's going on. Amaury (talk | contribs) 04:21, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
