Is the list complete?

[edit]

Hello,

Writing about the Chios massacre on french wiki, I was looking for a biography of a Kaptan-Pasha : Kara Ali, said to have lead the expedition on Chios in april and may 1822, and died in a greek attack in june 1822. In the list, there is a gap between 1822 and 1832. No Kaptan-Pasha or no information ? Is Kara Ali a Kaptan Pasha or just a naval officer ? Thanks. You can answer there, even in english : O Kolymbitès (talk) 21:46, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not. — LlywelynII 21:16, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I just cleared three links; namely Mehmet Pasha, Abdullah Pasha and Mahmut Pasha. Mehmet Pasha had been linked to a disambiguation page. Abdullah Pasha had been linked to a land forces commander of 1912 and Mahmut Pasha ( a 19th century admiral) had been linked to the 15th century admiral Veli Mahmut Pasha whose name was already cited. Speaking of odd/dead links, do we remove internet sources that're dead? or wait for someone to poke around on the Wayback Machine or sth? — LlywelynII 21:16, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No need for the Ottoman, unless it's moved to Grand Admiral. — LlywelynII 21:16, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bit of a mess

[edit]

Patched up table into something a little more thorough and presentable, but couldn't fix this. Erkan is listed as a source for three overlapping captaincies: Ahmed Fevzi Pasha (10 Nov 1836-1839), Damat Mehmed Ali Pasha (10 Nov 1836-1848), and Ateş Mehmed Pasha (10 Nov 1836-1863). Since it's an offline source and in Turkish, I can't verify which is correct or if they all are, only with other dates. — LlywelynII 06:30, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
