Should some of these albums exist be stand-alone articles?

[edit]

I created this article last week after some of the stand-alone compilation album pages were nominated for deletion, and along with another editor I have now expanded this page into a comprehensive list. I merged the vast majority of articles here, keeping just a few which seem to have particular notability. However, AllMusic reviews have since been added to many of them and it has been suggested that some of the higher rated albums may now be notable to be individual articles once again. Any thoughts on the way forward with this would be very welcome. Thank you TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:12, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are quite a few later compilation albums of hers which have four stars or above ratings at AllMusic:
  • Coming Back Like a Song: 25 Hits 1941-47 (1998) 5 stars
  • Capitol Collectors Series (1991) 4.5 stars
  • 16 Most Requested Songs (1995) 4.5 stars
  • Spotlight on Jo Stafford (1996) 4.5 stars
  • Happy Holidays: I Love the Winter Weather (1999) 4.5 stars
  • Just Reminiscin' (2000) 4.5 stars
  • The Columbia Hits Collection (2001) 4.5 stars
  • The Columbia Singles Collection, Vol. 1 (2004) 4.5 stars
  • Her Greatest Hits (2008) 4.5 stars
  • Drifting and Dreaming with Jo Stafford (1996) 4 stars
  • Walkin' My Baby Back Home (1998) 4 stars
  • International Hits (2001) 4 stars
  • Jo Stafford on Capitol (2001) 4 stars
  • You Belong to Me (Memoir) (2004) 4 stars
  • You Belong to Me (Remember) (2004) 4 stars
  • You Belong to Me (Rajon) (2004) 4 stars
  • You Belong to Me (ASV/Living Era) (2004) 4 stars
  • You Belong to Me (Dynamic) ( 2008) 4 stars
  • The Capitol Rarities 1943-1950 (2009) 4 stars
Would think that on the basis of ratings, at least some of them should go back to their own individual pages. Most of what's listed here with high AllMusic ratings were issued after 2000. We hope (talk) 23:01, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think that we should restore those with high ratings as this suggests they are notable. If nobody voices any serious objections in the next couple of weeks I'll begin restoring those with a four or five star rating. TheRetroGuy (talk) 12:03, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All albums mentioned above now restored. Paul MacDermott (talk) 17:15, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Split proposal

[edit]

This page is too long to be edited properly. The proposal is for the compilation albums from 2000 onward to be split into a separate page for them, with the Capitol Collectors Series compilation album getting its own page back as it has a 4.5 star rating at AllMusic and the compilation album Portrait Edition which isn't listed here, to have its own, new separate page as it also is highly rated at AllMusic.
